Robert Wood: Broker/Attorney
Robert Wood has been a licensed real estate broker since 1980. He earned a BA in History, BBA in Real Estate, and his Juris Doctor in Law from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. Mr. Wood received two American Jurisprudence awards (Property and International Law), and made Law Review after his first semester.
Mr. Wood has over 30 years of professional experience dealing with large national and multinational corporations at Executive Board levels. He designed an international RealEstate Capital Markets Pian for a $6 Billion dollar public company. He created a Broker-Dealer for securitization of Real Estate with emphasis on Asian and European capital markets and implemented the initial strategic plan for that Fortune 500 Company. He authored the white paper Accessing Asian Capital Markets and spoke at numerous regional conferences on the subject of international finance.
Mr. Wood still consults for several financial institutions and family offices regarding their real estate and investment portfolios. Over the years he has developed long-standing professional relationships with pension plan sponsors, of corporate, public and Taft-Hartley plans. Mr. Wood directly oversaw all aspects of asset consulting for his 11 clients whose assets exceeded $ 1.5 billion. The Department he was Vice President of at a regional investment bank in Dallas had over 30 clients with total assets in excess of $3 billion at that time.
While still in undergraduate and law school he worked several years for a major Dallas based real estate appraisal firm. He has worked for a large real estate mortgage banking firm, Miller-Sonnebick-Goldman, and for apartment and retail real estate acquisition firms. He personally has been involved in single-family home sales and acquisition as a principal as well as a broker; office building acquisitions office leasing; apartment acquisitions and sales, retail acquisitions and sales; retail leasing; industrial acquisitions; industral.

Mr, Wood has Civil Litigation experience in Labor and Employment Law, Construction Law, Real Estate transactions, Securities Fraud (both trial and arbitration) and FINRA actions, Consumer Fraud, DTPA, and Intellectual Property
disputes. He also has significant litigation experience in Family Law litigation in complex Child Custody cases, Divorce, Asset Tracing and Decree Enforcement as well as Adoption and Guardianship (Adult and Child) actions.
Mr. Wood often acts as outside General Counsel to small and medium-size businesses who are unable to maintain a full-time legal executive position in their company. In this capacity, he has represented entertainment and media-related companies, real estate construction and development firms, manufacturers, investment advisory firms, medical software firms, restaurant development and operating companies, numerous business transactions for physicians and physician corporations and not for profit entities.
In 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 Mr. Wood received the Super Lawyers of Texas honor and designation from Martindale Hubbel. In 2017 he was recognized by Marquis Who's Who with a Lifetime Achievement Award. He is currently listed in Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who in Finance and Industry and Who's Who in America for almost 20 years.
